Our Heavenly Father is Always With Us

The North American Indians have a tradition that when their son is coming of age the son must do something to prove his worth.

We will call this son Tommie.

Tommie’s father took him to the edge of the woods where there were a lot of tree stumps.  The day was almost finished. The sun was going down.

The father said, Tommie you are to stay here all night long with your eyes covered. You may take the cloth from your eyes only when you feel the sunshine on your face.

The father sat Tommie on one of the stumps and tied a cloth around his eyes and made sure he could not see.

The fathers parting words were, remember, stay here all night with your eyes covered.

During the night Tommie could hear all kinds of sounds, owls, coyotes, and lots of other animals.  But he stayed right where he was told to.

When morning came and he felt the sun on his face he took the cloth off his face.  There his father was sitting close by him.  He had been there all night watching over him.

We too have a Heavenly Father that watches over us.  We may not see Him but we can be sure that He is always there.

So, when we are afraid, we just have to call out to Him to give us peace.

During this time of lock down let us remember to reach out to our Heavenly Father for assurance to get us through.
